A note from Jack Bethards of Schoenstein:
I am so glad you will be at the Carmelites! The acoustics are fine, the room is beautiful, and the organ is a real gem. We haven’t been there in several years so I hope the organ will be in good shape. It has always been a very reliable instrument.
It was built in 1917 by the Robert-Morton Co. of Los Angeles and is totally original. As you probably know, the Robert-Morton company was an outgrowth of the Murray M. Harris company, builders of the 1904 World’s Fair organ now at the Wanamaker store in Philadelphia and the original Stanford Memorial Church organ among many others.
You will enjoy its beautiful tone! It has only 8 ranks, but all are beautiful!
